Welcome Surroundings
Grogans Pub is in the heart of Dublin City and surrounded by iconic spots such as Grafton Street and the Georges Street Arcade. While it may not match the likes of a busy Vegas casino, the area is home to buskers creating a lively atmosphere and you’ll find the pub is both busy during the day and night.
Have you been looking for somewhere new to visit for a pint and a chat with friends in Dublin? If so, the quintessential Grogan’s Pub, otherwise known as Grogan’s Castle Lounge, might just be the ticket. Indeed, this quaint pub offers a little of everything, making it the perfect destination for many people looking for an authentic, traditional pub experience. Sit back and relax; you’re in good company!
Your Lively Local Lounge in Dublin
When it comes to a lively atmosphere, Grogan’s Pub in Dublin has it nailed. Despite being a massively popular destination in the heart of Dublin itself, Grogan’s boasts all of the charm, lively atmosphere, and friendly ambience that you’d expect from a trusty local – all of which makes it so easy to feel at home. Better still, the pub’s open seven days a week, so you’ll never have to worry about getting great service.
One of the most unique features of Grogan’s has t to be the fact that it doesn’t rely on a massive flat-screen TV to keep guests entertained, which is hard to find these days; the lively atmosphere is solely from the excellent crowd gathered around, which helps make it an incredibly uplifting and energising space overall.
An Unshakeable Local Maintstay
All too many things in life come and go – but this isn’t the case with Grogan’s Pub, which has become widely renowned for being a long-standing local business. Opening its doors for the first time in 1899, the pub has since gone from strength to strength, growing in particular during the 1970s, when some of the best-known artists and writers in the city began gracing its rooms.
Being such a longstanding name in the area, Grogan’s Pub has become one of the most popular destinations for both local residents and visitors to Dublin alike. However, keep in mind that the pub’s immense popularity can make it hard to get a table – so, if you are lucky enough to grab one, you’ll want to keep hold of it tightly! A limited amount of outdoor seating is also available, although this is equally packed usually, so be sure to get there early in the evening for the best chances.
Opening Times
If you’ve been planning a trip to Grogan’s, there’s some good news: it’s open all week, so you’ll never have to worry on missing out. However, the pub’s especially manic on Fridays and Saturdays, so if you get a chance to visit on a weekday, give it a go. You’ll have to just take a chance, unfortunately, as reservations aren’t possible.
Bear in mind that, compared to many pubs, Grogan’s closes pretty early compared to most pubs, opening at the following hours:
- Monday: 10:30am to 11:30pm
- Tuesday: 10:30am to 11:30pm
- Wednesday: 10:30am to 11:30pm
- Thursday: 10:30am to 11:30pm
- Friday: 10:30am to 12:30am
- Saturday: 10:30am to 12:30am
- Sunday: 12:30pm to 11:00pm
As such, it’s a late night out you’re looking, Grogan’s might not be the best bet; however, it’s undoubtedly a good destination for a great evening. So, soak up this breathtaking property’s rustic charm and kick your feet up; you know you’ll be in good company.
